Just spent an amazing weekend here! I have been here several times and it's definitely my favourite place to come camping, the views are incredible and it's so peaceful! Plenty of space in the field for the children to run around and play games. There are also braziers to rent out and who doesn't love a fire to roast marshmallows in the evening!! Linda and peters hospitality is second to none! There are toilets and a shower on site which are kept immaculate and a tap for drinking water, I can not recommend this place enough I love it here and will definitely be returning again!
Booked last minute, very accommodating owners. Made to feel very welcome upon arrival, very clean and tidy. |
Steep single track road which my classic camper (58yrs old) managed to shake its way up. lovely views from campsite.
Would recommend and will return with the dogs next time,

Just discovered your site. It looks absolutely fabulous.
For me a fundamental attraction of the site is that its close to a wild camping experience as you can get ( my usual experience in Arctic Norway) and its on my door step!
Might I offer a small correction to your web site intro???? In Alltwen your end of the hill is known as Graig yr Abbey (The Rappy)-the Drummau is the other end overlooking Skewen.

A short, but very sweet stay! Woke up to the most wonderful view, and made to feel so welcome. Thank you

We were directed to this campsite by a fully booked local one, and we're very pleased to have found it. The lady and gentleman owners were so lovely and welcoming. We will be back soon for another trip. The loos were spotless as was the shower. The site itself is set in the most glorious place with amazing views. The duck eggs from the farm were absolutely wonderful too. Look forward to seeing you again soon.
I want to give you a big thank you for your wonderful hospitality and generosity for when half our tents were flooded and you let a lot of us sleep in your trailer tent. I dot know what we would've done otherwise. Thank you very much. Definitely going to come back and recommend to friends and family.

Fantastic, thank you very much for all your help. Unfortunately I can't find you on TripAdvisor to leave a long, appreciative review, but here goes an ounce of appreciation from us;|
After nearly having our stay in Wales ruined in which was to be a belated Christmas present at the Liberty Stadium for the Manics concert, we were rescued by Linda and Peter after the St Ives Inn hotel in Neath gave our room away! We had, had it booked since February and there was nothing available anywhere and after travelling from Yorkshire, our last chance was hopefully a campsite and to sleep in the car! Tir Abbey was the first campsite on our search and Linda helped us from the off. We parked up, got in a taxi (booked by Linda) and made the concert just in time. What was nearly a disaster from the terrible St Ives Inn (Neath) we was rescued by the delightful Linda and Peter and just to add to their generosity, we arrived back after the concert to a trailer tent which was one of the nicest things anyone had ever done for us. This act of kindness proved to us that there are still nice people in society and we would love to stay again. We are very very grateful for what you both did for us and we can't wait to return again, whether it be with our young children or with me bringing a work expedition to explore the hills of Wales. Thank you is not enough for what you did, but I hope it starts to repay you for your kindness. Take care and we hope to see you again in the not so distant future.

Lovely night at Tir Abbey, a wonderful hidden jewel, the owner was lovely and welcoming facilities very clean, looking forward to going again for a bit longer.
I love this site! Just returned from my second visit and I cannot sing it's praises too much!
The owners Peter and Linda are friendly and helpful and the little shop that Linda runs is a delight, with mostly hand-crafted souvenirs.
Getting to the site is a little bumpy, but follow the instruction given by the owners, take it steady and you'll have no trouble.
The facilities are basic, yes, but there are toilets, a shower and a drinking water tap. What more do you need? True, there isn't a playground but there is a big open field for kids to run around in.
The views are spectacular, it is quiet and peaceful, surrounded by wildlife and when the skies are clear at night, there is very little light pollution, so take your telescope or binoculars and gaze with awe at stars like you've never seen before!
What more can I say? If you're looking for peace and serenity, if you like to be surrounded by nature, if you like a spectacular view, if you like star-gazing, you can't go wrong at Tir Abbey!
