1. This drawing was done for Lauren Rossi. I don't know when or why. I would guess in 1999 or early 2000. Lauren often drove Chris home. The picture is another from 1985 , Halloween night. That's Adam's costume in the background. He was a robot that year. Chris was very interested in his costume. Some of the lights actually lit up....Chris was fascinated!! This weekend I cleaned out some drawers and closets. Sat. I found one of those disposable cameras from RITE AID in a drawer. I was SO hopeful it was from before 11/20/00....we rushed it right to the one hour photo developing at CVS! We were very disappointed to find pictures from Christmas 2000. Chris was no where to be found. Today (Sun.) I found some old ATM and grocery store receipts, in an old purse, all dated 1/12/00. All I could think was Chris was still alive....when I did this Chris was still alive.....that is a very strange feeling.

4. This drawing was done on a journal entry Chris did for an English class. No date though. He had written about a dream he had. He was in an elevator on a very high floor and the elevator started falling. He drew this picture at the bottom of the paper and wrote, " my face when falling " next to it. The picture was taken on Oct. 31st, 1985, 16 months old and his first trick or treat experience....he loved it! The costume was very easy, a white pillow case, long sleeved white turtle neck, wire coat hangers and aluminum foil....instant angel! Who would have dreamed he'd actually become one in our lifetime? And that is my current coping mechanism. I feel he's telling me, "It's OK Mom. This is my job, I'm an angel.....this is what I was meant to be...and I'm doing a good job too Mom, you'd be so proud of me." And I am So proud....I was alwayys so proud of both my boys.

5. Hey, Chris. I miss ya so much today. I miss you everyday but today I was thinking about you a lot. Everytime I practice my guitar I think of you and wish you were around to hear me play. I think you would have been excited that I was learning. And been willing to help me out. You would probably tell me to stay away from power chords, right? I still remember our conversation about those in the art room...and I have the email you sent me that night. You are so amazing, Chris. I love you so much...just wanted to tell you

6. The date on the last entry is incorrect. It should be 10/6/01, not 10/5/01, and match that drawing.

7. I believe this drawing was done the weekend before Chris was killed, November 17th or 18th 2000, during the play, "Anne of Green Gables." (If I'm mistaken Cori, please correct me.) He had given his KENTICKY ELLIOTT sweatshirt to Cori because he told her he thought it was becoming a security blanket. Chris LIVED in that sweatshirt. He wore it Winter, Spring , Summer and Fall. (The drawing reads, "I miss my sweatshirt cuz I'm cold.") I HONESTLY BELIEVE, some way, some how, Chris knew his time on earth was through. He was preserving the sweatshirt when he gave it to Cori. Some how he knew, if he wore it to school Monday November 20th 2000, it would be ruined. He knew it would be cut to ribbons by the paramedics to respond to the scene after the driver of the pick up killed him. He was preserving it for his brother. I BELIEVE that! The photo was taken October 29th, 1985. The boys were preparing their pumpkins for carving!

8. This drawing of the American Eagle was patterned after the eagle on the one dollar bill. It's part of a page of a comic book he wrote and illustrated called HMMMmmmm. It was about life forms in the pyramids on the dollar bill. I don't recall exactly when he did it. I think 1998 or 1999. The photo was taken Oct. 30th 1984. His sitting tolerance was still poor so we propped him up against the big pumpkin for the picture. Worked great!

9. This time last year there was an out break of meningitis just as there is this year. The young daughter of one of Chris' favorite teachers was sick for several days. As a result , his teacher missed school too. I remember watching the news with Chris about the meningitis cases. He was SO worried that his teacher's daughter had it and could possibly die. He worried about them for days. I told her at parent / teacher confrence how worried he was about them. She confirmed her daughter had been ill, but luckily, it was not meningitis.

10. I like the format of the old guest book.
Also it had no advertising!
The ONLY part of the new guest book I like
is the counter inside of the questbook.
