Hey, I ran across your sight while doing some research. In my class we read the Orphan train so it inspired me to do more research. Then I saw your sight and was not aware of Jabe working on nichols farm if I am not mistaking they were mentioned in the story. Monday I will go back and look. There is also a movie. I will get the name and who produced it and pass it on.

I Believe that my husband's great grandfather was on one of these trains. His name was Michael Linch/Lynch, born in MA or Ireland, left in NY City by his uncle when he was 12 years old. He ended up in Wells Co. IN, married and had a family.

I would like to know if my gr gr grandmother was an orphan on the trains. She was adopted to a Indiana family. Born in NY city, parents from Ireland. I don't know her last name only her adopted name. Any ideas on where I search next?

Great to have a list of names. How do I get more info? Clicking for "more info" & "resources" only brought up "page cannot be found." The Charles Shaw, b 1850 in NY could possibly be my husband's great grandfather. The grandfather John C. Shaw has been a brick wall; he did not seem to know where he or his father was born according to census records: IL, IN or, according to 1930, NY. And John C.
