Hello Pete I've always been facinated with guitars and hope to learn to play one day. I own an old ephiphone as well as a tach. I am also about to begin a trace of my family name which I believe originated in the Dorset area of England. I believe my decendants arrived here in Newfoundland from that area in the 17 century. Just wondering about yourself, have you done any research on your family tree? 2008-11-23 11:29:22, Terry Woodman, Newfoundland Canada. |

Hi Pete, bought my upgraded Regal from you around January time and haven't stopped playing since, the more I play the better it sounds. Just one question, it's now string replacement time, what gauge strings do you fit as a standard slide set up? Thanks.
2008-10-12 04:37:15, Clive, UK Administrator: Glad you're still having fun with it, Clive. For Tricones I always recommend Newtone National strings in gauges .015 to .056. They have a lower tension than regular strings so despite the comparatively heavy gauges they don't put too much strain on the instrument. If you can't get those then regular phosphor bronze acoustic strings will work OK - I would probably fit .013s, certainly nothing lighter than .12s because you won't get the same tone out of light strings. |

Hi Pete, Great website! Do you sell less expensive resonator guitars? I am wondering if my best bet would be to buy from you and have you do all the upgrades??? Thanks, Mike Florio - michaelpflorio@gmail.com 2008-01-22 09:41:06, Mike Florio, New York Administrator: I'm really on the wrong side of the Atlantic for you. With the dollar weak against the pound and the high cost of shipping you would get more bang for your buck if you buy from a US dealer - for example, one of Paul Beard's Goldtones would be good value for you. |

Hello Pete, You have a great website! Down to business...I have recently bought a used Regal reso bass off of Ebay. It has some buzzing and rattling issues, and I'd like to upgrade it with new National or Quarterman cone, new bridge, new nut etc. A company in New Mexico (Folk of the Wood) said they could upgrade for $250. How much would you charge to upgrade a Regal bass? Also, I'd love to hear your recommendations for the very best Reso basses available at any price at this time. Thanks very much for your time! Pete just a quick thank you to go in your guest book. The Tricone you made for me with new National cones and the lovely new neck is just unbelievable. It's loud, it's smooth and soooo cool, wish I could play them as well as you make them. Can't thank you enough.
